About Me

Rupert Lear
Here’s my story…… Back in the day (1995) while at Uni in Hull I was known for my colorful dress sense - in fact, I think I’ve always been known for it, and still am known for it, and shall probably be known for it for ever as it’s part of me.  The tartan suit pictured below, earned me the nickname Rupert after the bear cartoon that has been published in the Daily Express in the UK since some point in time that I don’t actually know. As a kid I even read the books, see it’s amazing how a young mind can be so easily influenced. The Lear surname is derived from the Shakespearean King no less. Having studied the play for 2 years while doing English Literature at A Level I had to know the thing backwards, and be able to quote in the exam. That was 1991-1993. Some 12 years later I can still recite parts, ocassionally when drunk, they may appear. It was Lear’s craziness that I likened to my outlook on life. So there you have it, that is how rupertlear came into being.
